How to Geocode a Single Address

How to geocode a single address

If you only have one, or a few, addresses you need to geocode, you have a couple of different options for converting them to latitude/longitude with Geocodio.

The first one is our Try tool, available lower down on this page

With the Try tool, you can input a single address and select which data enrichments you need, if any. You can use it further down on this page.

You can also use it here, which may be preferable for bookmarking since you won't have to scroll down.

Use the "Paste" option in the Upload tool

If you have a handful of addresses, but not a full list, it may be easier to use the Upload tool.

Via the Upload tool, you have the option to upload a spreadsheet, or paste in rows. You can use this even if your addresses didn't come from a spreadsheet originally.

  1. Click "paste"

  2. Type in a header, such as "address"

  3. Type/copy-paste in the addresses

Use the single address geocoding endpoint

You can also use Geocodio's API to geocode a single address.

If you are geocoding single addresses one-off, it may be easiest to create a link in your browser with your API key and bookmark it.
