In addition to parsing, standardizing, and validating address data, Geocodio can also spelling-correct address data in the US and Canada.
When you're working with manually-inputted data, or data that has been compiled from many different sources, it's common to run into spelling errors. These spelling errors can reduce the likelihood of geocoding success, and we therefore try to be tolerant of spelling errors. Spelling correction is based on typos as well as phonetically-similiar words.
It's also likely the addresses are missing information, such as pre/postdirectionals (such as West or East), ZIP codes, or other address components. We'll complete the address, too.
Here are a few examples of different spelling errors Geocodio will correct:
Issue Type | Example Input | Geocodio Result |

Multiple spelling issues | 15299 Cross roads Pkwy, Gulf port, Misisippi | 15299 Crossroads Pkwy, Gulfport, MS 39503 |
Address parsing, standardization, completion, and spelling correction are automatically included with all forward geocoding (i.e. address-based) lookups.
If you require address verification, we support this through the USPS zip4 data append in the US.
