Congressional district boundaries switchover on January 3rd

Redistricted boundaries, as well as new legislators, will become the default on January 3rd, 2025.

The bottom line:

  • As of January 3rd, 2025, if you have an API integration that uses cd, new district boundaries will automatically be returned and considered the default moving forward.
  • If you upload spreadsheets via our Spreadsheet Uploader tool, the default append for Congressional Districts will be set to the 119th Congress.
  • Legislator data for the 119th Congress will also be updated on the same date.

API

On January 3rd, boundaries for the 2025-2027 Congress, i.e. the 119th Congress, will become the default when you request Congressional districts via the cd append.

You will also be able to specifically request the 119th Congress by using cd119.

District boundaries for the now-sitting Congress, i.e. the 118th Congress, will continue to be available by requesting it as cd118.

New Congressional legislator data will be available on January 3rd as well. Historical legislator data will not be available.

See our API docs for more on using the Congressional data enrichments.

Spreadsheet Uploads

After January 3rd, 2025, districts and legislator data for the 119th Congress will be appended by default when you choose to add US Congressional Districts to your results.

You will still be able to access information about the 118th Congress, as well as prior Congresses, by utilizing the drop-down menu during the upload process.

We're continuing to track redistricting updates

We're continuing to track redistricting changes, although they are happening with less frequency as many court cases were settled in the last year.
